***CAUTION*** Lowe's Merchandise Credit Cards ***BEWARE***

I returned an item at my NC Lowe's store yesterday. As always, when you get a Merchandise Credit card they check your driver's license. But when I went to use that merchandise card for another purchase, Lowe's now makes you show your driver's license again. I asked why and was told to cut down on fraud.
If the driver's license # using the merchandise card is not the same driver's license # when the merchandise credit was issued, then Lowe's will not honor the purchase. Not sure if this policy is Nationwide, but if not, will soon be.
