Western Digital Easystore 12TB External/Desktop USB3.0 Hard Drive for $180 today. Normally about $212.  12TB is massive storage, capable of storing about 200 hours of HD-quality videos, or over 200,000 24-megapixel raw/uncompressed camera photos. The price is great too, at 1.5¢ per GB. Inside the case is likely a Western Digital "Red" drive that normally costs over $250. It is possible to remove the drive and plug-in to a Serial-ATA docking station or install inside a desktop computer. If you don't mind voiding the 2-year warranty, grab some guitar picks and watch this video to pop open the case and take out the hard drive. We have done this 5 times with similar Western Digital external drives, putting the drives in a network-connected "fileserver" PC at home for backing-up photos, videos, and important documents. The Serial-ATA drives themselves are super reliable and perform very fast (at least 120 MBytes/sec writes). Original post
