Casio Men's W800H-1AV Classic Digital Sport Watch - $10 + FSSS eligible at Amazon


Here's one for all you super cheap nerdy watch enthusiasts. Amazon has the Casio Men's W800H-1AV Classic Digital Sport Watch for the lowest its ever been at $10 + FSSS eligible. This goes at WalMart for $18.93 and Target for $24.99 and the lowest it had been until a few days back was $14 and before that $16 regularly:

Note that this watch is a definite upgrade to the ever-popular F91 in that it:

- Is water resistant up to 100m whereas the F91 is simply "water resistant" on the surface (really down to about 20 feet in my experience)

- Has the "Illuminator***" feature which lights up the face with a neon glow instead of a little yellow light from the side like the F91

- Has the full date and 3 letter abbreviation of the day of week (vs. just month and day with 2 letter abbreviation for the F91)

- Has a larger face than the F91 and looks more substantial on the wrist

- Has a much better band than the F91, which is the F91's biggest problem probably.

*** The illuminator feature on the W800 is sort of a hybrid in that it doesn't illuminate from the back, but from the side but with a neon green light. Same effect though, just a bit duller than the more expensive Casios. Sometimes that's good if you're checking early in the morning.

Anyway, that's the rundown, this is a great little watch with a 10 year battery life and like most casio digitals it will literally last a couple decades if you don't break it against something. Enjoy!
