Greetings, all! The garbage disposal in my kitchen sink is dying, so I had to price a replacement. It's not leaking, but it's vibrating some and trips its built-in circuit breaker if I let it run for a few seconds. The old unit is an "InSinkErator Badger 5" that I installed 7+ years ago, and that model is still manufactured, so I decided to price the same unit (ease of installation, long life). $100 + tax at Home Depot and Lowes, or $80.71 shipped at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00004U9JO It is a 1/2 horsepower unit with a 2 year warranty. I'm an Amazon Prime member so my shipping was automatically 2-day (I ordered yesterday and it will be delivered tomorrow), so that delay wasn't a deal killer. I would probably have purchased local if the old disposal was leaking, though. Original Post
