As a lot of people already have the AA version of this, you're probably familiar with the design/function/whatnot. This is practically the exact same thing, but about 1/3 bigger to accommodate an 18650 battery instead.

It does have five modes (high, med, low, strobe, sos) but it seems some people may have varying experience with the mode memory. For me, it has gone back to high each time I let it sit for a short time.

Regardless, this has blown away my other 18650s as a flood light (forget about the AA version, although still good to have). And I'm just using the junky ultrafire batteries. It has the usual "square beam" if you zoom all the way in and largely stays about a soft square until you zoom back out. It's not a thrower by any means, but if you want to light up a room this sucker will do it. For under $9 shipped (with prime or along another order over $35) I thought it was a pretty good deal.
