GoPro's site has HERO7 batteries on sale for $11.99 (normally $19.99). The HERO7 battery will work in HERO5/6/7. It will also work in HERO8/9, but you will not be able to use certain features like hypersmooth that require the newer blue bottom battery.
No GoPro subscription is required for the discount. However, to get free shipping, you need to spend $50. So to save the $15 shipping, you need to buy 5 batteries or other accessories from the site.
