The Autel MaxiScan MS300 Scan Tool for OBD-II has dropped to $16.99 on Amazon it was around 20 bucks for a while.
This is a buck cheaper than the Newegg deal mentioned a while back in this thread: Thread from May, with links to older posts about what and what not to expect from this low end device.

As mentioned in older posts this is a low cost device. It can show readiness though which I didn't see on others in that price range. (Readiness is checked in some states as part of emissions test, it basically shows whether you drove enough and under various conditions after resetting some codes that the system really knows it's all fine.) How to get back to readiness is different for different makes and can be found out in car forums. This tool doesn't help to get readiness back faster, which I believe some manufacturer specific ones do, but it shows you when it's back.
