I've been keeping my eyes out for a WD Purple hard drive for my Blue Iris setup. Saw this this morning:

Amazon Warehouse is offering a 20% discount on the WD 8TB Purple Drive (4.6 stars) for a net price of $173.74 + tax.
The lowest this used drive has ever been listed according to CCC is $201. New drive is $255 on Amazon. This drive is marked as Used Very Good (item will come repackaged).
The purple drive is a 5400RPM drive specialized for 24/7 surveillance.

Yes, yes, this is a used drive--but Amazon Warehouse is more reliable than most. Check the disk thoroughly upon receipt (with a utililty) and remember to use your Amex to buy it--as most other credit cards will not extend warranty for a used/warehouse item (to my understanding). At this price, it may be worth the risk...
