I've been interested in RZ masks for a while as they're very popular with woodworkers and I'm just getting into the hobby myself. I found them to be pricey but decided to give them a try because of their solid reviews. Their active carbon filters block out 99.9% of particles down to .1 micron, so I'm sure these can be used for public safety as well. They do sell caps to block the one-way valves in case that's a concern. Here's their sizing chart [rzmask.com] and list of mask types:
