I enjoy finding stuff that appear to be made to a very high quality standard but due to lack of a brand name or recognition, is sold at very cheap prices. This tripod appears to fall into this category. I purchased this tripod about a week ago when it was "discounted" to $99 in the Gold Box, now I see it's the normal price. I had never heard of Dolica and was going cheap with a used Manfrotto 728B that I purchased off of Craigslist. But I am glad I gave this a try because it is a solid and durable piece of equipment that I don't see ever being replaced unless it either broke or I began getting paid large sums of money to take photographs. If any non-pro has ever thought about getting a $250-$500 tripod/head setup and balked at the price, this warrants a serious look.
